Vaccine Carrier Insert

Insulating insert that drops into a vaccine carrier to hold ice packs and keep the cold chain stable, with an optional removable honeycomb floor that keeps the contents out of meltwater.

What to export: the insert, the honeycomb floor, or both in one file. The floor comes out upside down, which is how it prints.

Outside width of the insert, across the carrier · Allowed: 80 – 300

Outside depth of the insert, front to back · Allowed: 80 – 300

Outside height of the insert · Allowed: 40 – 200

Walls 2

Wall and floor thickness. Below 2 mm the walls are too weak to handle. · Allowed: 2 – 20

Corner radius on the outside vertical edges · Allowed: 1 – 30

Options 1

Chamfer around the bottom edge so the insert drops in easily · Allowed: 0 – 8

Wall waves 3

Round waves on the outside of the four walls, so an ice pack rests on the crests only

How deep the waves cut into the wall. At least 2 mm of wall is always left. · Allowed: 0.5 – 5

Distance from one crest to the next, adjusted a little to fit each face evenly · Allowed: 4 – 25

Honeycomb floor 6

Thickness of the floor, which is how high the contents sit above the bottom · Allowed: 3 – 30

Size of each hexagon opening, measured across the flats · Allowed: 4 – 30

Rib width between the hexagons. 1.6 mm prints as 4 lines with a 0.4 mm nozzle. · Allowed: 0.8 – 5

Width of the solid rim that gives the floor smooth, straight edges · Allowed: 1 – 15

Gap between the floor and the insert walls, on each side · Allowed: 0 – 3

Open layer under the honeycomb so water spreads over the whole bottom instead of filling single cells. 0 gives a plain honeycomb. · Allowed: 0 – 10

Quality 1

Facets per full circle. Higher is smoother but slower to generate. · Allowed: 16 – 128
